Jess and the Ancient Ones is a psychedelic rock band from Kuopio, Finland. The group was formed back in 2010 with the vocal talent Jess as their front woman. JATAO draws inspiration from pretty much everything that lies within the musical fields and beyond. Imagination is never to be censored when writing music, and one could say that's the lifeblood of all art.Starting out with a strong NWOBHM influence, as heard on their self-titled debut back in 2012, the band has slowly grown towards their own true identity. Nowadays one can find traces of surf, blues, folk, jazz, rock, and loads more in their exciting and smoky sound.Jess and the Ancient Ones are signed to Svart Records, who are known as the home of today's wild underground with a vast amount of modern cult releases under their wings.Expect the unexpected, and feed your minds.

Forged in Bergen’s creative melting pot in 2004, the Norwegian riff-lords have conquered stages from Wacken to India, and their chart-busting 2006 debut, Sahg I, received universal praise from critics and fans alike, including a perfect 10/10 from Germany’s Rock Hard and a commendable 8/10 from Metal Hammer UK. It didn’t end there, with Classic Rock magazine boldly declaring that their 2008 follow-up, Sahg II, ‘teeters on the edge of a modern day classic.’ But while the praise for Sahg’s singular vision and virtuoso abilities has been high, it’s also been consistently laced with references to the most monumental of groups responsible for creating the rock and metal world we live in. The comparisons aren’t accidental.2013:The beginning of a new era. Sahg returns with their fourth studio album, 'Delusions Of Grandeur', following a three years long renewal of the band's musical approach. After three albums, very much moulded around the same creative center-point, Sahg finds the need for a change.Otherworldly, mystical, unflinchingly progressive, and unafraid to call upon the powers of doom, 'Delusions Of Grandeur' is nothing less than 48 minutes of impeccable musicianship and flawless delivery. Recorded at Solslottet Studios – aka Castle Of The Sun – under production of Iver Sandøy (Enslaved, Krakow), Sahg’s fourth entry in the annals of wickedness is a doom-infused, heavy rock fireball that’s set to torch speakers around the globe.“We recorded it live,” says Olav. “We wanted to capture the heat of the moment and the organic vibe of our live performance.”It is a concept record. “The album tells the story of a person, whose delusions of grandeur escalate to the level where they consume him completely,” explains Olav. “He loses touch with everyone around him, and isolates into an imaginary, psychotic world, where he takes over the whole universe. After reaching the far end of the universe, having conquered all there is to conquer, he slips off the edge and floats away, weightless. Helpless and powerless, he drifts into space, until he disappears in the darkness. It’s an album about how desire for power and property can destroy who we are.”Inspired by imagery from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, Fritz Lang’s 1927 masterpiece Metropolis, the eerie aesthetics of sci-fi author Sean Williams’ Astropolis quadrilogy, and Norwegian novelist Karl Ove Knausgård’s explosive autobiography, My Struggle, there’s no denying the depth of thought as well as musicianship that underlies Sahg’s fourth, most ambitious release. And from the breathtaking, cinematic dynamics opening salvo Slip Off The Edge Of The Universe to the thundering muscularity of Firechild and the utterly cosmic, 11-minute sojourn of Sleeper’s Gate To The Galaxy, this is the stuff landmarks are made of.

POWDER FOR PIGEONS is an Australian/German two piece that was founded in 2013 in the dusty regional back drop of Western Australia. Inspired by the rugged surroundings the male/female power duo has crafted a gigantic sound that fills the frequency spectrum with punchy, warm, low, fuzzy guitar riffery and thumpin drums to be heard for miles around.Whilst touring throughout Europe they have shared stages with Soulfly, Graveyard, Melvins, Clutch, Truckfighters, to name a few and have played on festivals like Stoned from the Underground (D), Freak Valley (D), Desertfest, Up in Smoke (CH), Czad Festiwal (PL), Öllesummer (EST) and many more.Once a year the deserty outback setting beckons them back to complete a new album which is always recorded live and completely self produced, capturing the raw and energetic live onstage power and essence of the band. In 2016 Powder for Pigeons will take their fourth album and their brand of high energy two piece stoner fuzz on tour again.
