Harakiri For The Sky
Ever since their conception in 2011, the Austrian duo has drawn fans and critics deeper and deeper into the maelstrom of their melancholy, self-hate and anger, and toured relentlessly in Europe, Asia and North and South America. With M.S.‘s captivating guitar melodies and J.J.‘s lyrics, ridden with trauma, delirium and loss, their unique mixture of extreme metal and post rock has created an inescapable void.
Graufar
Black/Death Metal from Austria. Graufar (an old german word for the color "grey") was founded in Linz, Austria at the end of 2020. The band complements Black-Metal with Death-Metal parts and also with melodic Elements. Therefore, the common Black-Metal screams occasionally switch to low Growls. The Englsih as well as German lyrics vary between socially critical Topics, the dark sides of humanity and personal experiences.
Firtan
For over a decade, FIRTAN has been a relentless force in the German Extreme Metal Scene, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances across Europe. Inspired by the raw energy of 90s Black Metal bands, their sound has evolved into a unique, more progressive entity, shedding eclectic influences for a multifaceted and innovative approach. At the core of FIRTAN's music stands an increasingly aggressive and frenetic sound characterized by powerful guitars and intense, visceral vocals. The haunting presence of the acoustic and electric violin weaves through their compositions with melancholic, experimental, and evocative tones. The incorporation of other acoustic instruments, such as the dulcimer, as well as analogue synthesizers, adds layers of depth. This blend creates a unique tension and complexity, enhancing the band's intricate riffing and unexpected musical shifts. With three albums and two EPs to their name, FIRTAN's discography showcases a clear and audible progression. In September 2024, they will unveil their fourth album, 'Ethos' through AOP Records. A work that promises to be their deepest, rawest, and heaviest yet. 'Ethos' delves into serious existential themes in an abstract manner, contrasting decline and opportunity within an ambivalent context. This juxtaposition is reflected in the music itself, confronting listeners with the harshness and sonic tension between harmony and dissonance, revealing the meaning and emptiness of existence. ‘Ethos’ will be following the critically acclaimed 'Marter,' and stands as a testament to the vibrant dynamics within the German Black Metal Scene. The album will feature guest performances from J.J. (Harakiri for the Sky, Karg) and L.G. (Ellende). Expect to be immersed in a world where melody and chaos collide, where unapologetic riffing and haunting melodies guide you through the shadows of the human condition.
Darkfall
Ever since the very beginning in 1995, the Austrian band DARKFALL has been known for high-quality and uncompromising Thrashed Death Metal. With the first releases Winter Leaves (1998) and Dimensions Beyond (1999), as well as with the follow-ups Firebreed (2001) and Phoenix Rising (2006) the band has unarguably left its marks in the landscapes of Extreme Metal. The boxed set Through Fiery Times And Beyond (2008) finally immortalized the band’s first ambitious years. The albums Road to Redemption (2013) and At The End Of Times (2017) are both a continuation of their legacy and brute campaigns towards a new era. Their latest split-album Thrashing Death Squad (2021), on which DARKFALL are fighting side by side with their brothers in arms MORTAL STRIKE, again combines all trademarks like brutal but nevertheless epic riffing, blasting drums and harsh growls of DARKFALL’s unique style.
